Job Description

About the Role:

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented HSE (Health, Safety & Environmental) Specialist to support and drive safety excellence at our manufacturing facility. This position plays a critical role in ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, fostering a strong safety culture, and implementing environmental and occupational health policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement and maintain site-specific HSE programs, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA).
  • Conduct risk assessments, job hazard analyses, and safety audits across production areas.
  • Investigate incidents, near misses, and safety-related complaints; develop root cause analyses and corrective action plans.
  • Lead safety training and onboarding programs for all plant employees, including toolbox talks and refresher courses.
  • Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to promote safe work practices and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain safety documentation, including training records, inspection reports, and regulatory submissions.
  • Support environmental initiatives including waste management, air emissions, and sustainability goals.
  • Stay current with changes to health, safety, and environmental legislation and proactively adjust internal policies.
  • Participate in internal and external HSE audits and ensure timely closure of findings.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of HSE experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA standards, hazard identification, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Experience conducting investigations and presenting safety metrics and findings to leadership.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to influence across all levels.
