") (CSE: JUSH) (OTCQX: JUSHF), we are shaping the future of the cannabis industry, the fastest growing jobs sector in the U.S. The Security and Safety Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing day-to-day functions for our Grower Processing facility, retail stores and support (senior) management (to ensure) federal and local legislative compliance. This role will be a key contributor in developing and maintaining SOPs pertaining to safety (and environmental issues) and security, driving the development of autonomous security and EHS culture, ensuring security and EHS standard operating procedures are enforced, leading initiatives to provide security and EHS training, lead the development (of both) risk identification and reduction awareness and methods, all achieved through employee engagement and participation.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
  • Report to the Regional Director of Security to develop and implement a nationwide security program and routine inspections while identifying and enforcing safety, health, and environmental risks in conjunction with local teams.
  • Review and understand state cannabis regulations specific to safety and security
  • Work with local regulators during inspections and investigations specific to security
  • Solid understanding of Federal, State, and local regulations, national standards, and best practices relating to security systems. Must be aware of the implications of legislated requirements that impact security for the site
  • Prepare and schedule training to cover emergency procedures, workplace safety, and other relevant topics
  • Ensure that safety data sheets and security records are maintained and readily accessible when needed
  • Maintain records of discharge of employee exposure to hazardous waste and/or pollutants, as required
  • Develop and maintain KPIs for monitoring the operational efficiency of manufacturing programs and for employees
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and other relevant worker safety regulations in a manufacturing environment
  • Oversee physical safety and security of the organization's facilities/property and people - employees, vendors, contractors, shippers, and visitors
  • Build and lead a team of security personnel in their day-to-day duties and responsibilities and ensure staff is adequately equipped and trained
  • Develop, implement, and maintain a physical security (security risk management) plan for all facilities, including security personnel staff
  • Manage and report to top management on security and safety incidents and threats
  • Oversee and report on security checks/surveillance/monitoring, authorize access to facilities, and ensure access is controlled.
  • All other duties as assigned

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
  • Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, environmental safety, occupation safety and health, psychology, or other related field of study is required
  • 5+ years of experience in security or safety or related experience preferred
  • 1+ years of management experience is preferred
  • Extensive knowledge of food safety, security, and GMP guidelines
  • People management skills to lead a diverse team of security/police personnel
  • Knowledge of experience with physical security systems (hardware and software) a plus
  • ASIS or other similar security organization certifications (e.g., CPP, PSP, LPC) are desirable
  • Enjoys working in a start-up, fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently in a highly organized manner
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong Interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Occasional travel
  • The ability to remain in a stationary position roughly 50% of the time, as well as the ability to move about the facility (patrolling, performing security checks, etc.) - sometimes rapidly - is required
  • Occasional heavy lifting of 25lbs (e.g., injured persons) may be expected

$70,000 - $75,000 a year
